Personal Narrative: The First Time I Sang Infront of an Audience

There I was singing in front of a big audience all eyes on me. I was nervous, but everyone was clapping to a slow beat making me get more and more confident singing on stage. My heart was beating so fast that my chest was aching while I was singing. I was on a medium level of confidence bearing a timid smile. Now I was just below the “Level Fully Confident.” My timid and shy smile was growing bigger and before you knew it I was FULLY CONFIDENT. Finally I finished singing my song that I had been practicing for months. The whole audience was clapping so loud you could even hear it outside of school. I felt so happy and proud that I sang my song with no errors. I was singing a song called, “Country Roads” by John Denver. This was my first time singing a solo I was only 7 years old, in 2nd grade. The performance was called the “Talent Show” I took part in the auditions at school in the theater.

My parents congratulated me. A few of my friends also congratulated me when they watched me in the “Talent Show.” We ended the exciting day by having dinner in mall “Plaza Senayan” at a Chinese restaurant. On Monday my teacher Mrs. Wolf made a certificate just for me, for singing at the “Talent Show.” At school all the teachers congratulated me and, my classmates and friends congratulated me too!
When I got home I told my mom and dad that all the teachers congratulated me.
I found two presents on my bed, they were two toy cars!!! After my first talent show I decided to do the talent show for three more years before I had to move to middle school.

I will still remember the day when I was singing in front of an audience and I was so nervous!

Burnt

By: Anthony Horowitz

*****

I've just finished reading a book titled "Burnt" by Anthony Horowitz. There are two different Horror Stories. The first one is titled "Burnt" and it's about a boy Tim who goes on vacation with his aunt and uncle. When he moves to the hotel , the only thing his Uncle Nigel wants to do is get a tan. Tim thinks Sara is rubbing protective oil on Uncle Nigel's body, but it's actually "Quick Cook Vegetable Oil-Faster Frying!" That's why there are burnt marks on Uncle Nigel's skin. On August 31st Uncle Nigel is dead! Aunt Sara didn't even have a suprised look on her face, she just said,"Oh."

The second story is titled "The Monkey's Ear" it's about a boy named Bart who is on vaccation with his family in Marrakesh. Bart urges his parents to buy the Monkey's Ear because it looks strange an ugly. The shopkeeper tells him that the Monkey's Ear grants four wishes. Instead of a rolls-royce the wishmaker gives Bart rolls of Rice(Sushi), when his dad wishes to have hair again the wishmmaker makes a hurricane and when his mm wished for a ton of money the wishmaker gave a tin of honey!! Bart claims that the Monkey's Ear can't hear the wish properly.

My favorite story was "Burnt"

Public Enemy Two

By: Anthoy Horowitz
*****
I have just finished reading a book titled Public Enemy Number Two by Anthony Horowitz. This book is about a boy whose name is Nick Diamond who is thirteen. Nick lives with his older brother Tim Diamond. When Nick was in detention, two policemen in disguise try to persuade Nick to go to jail, needs to be locked up in a cell with the most dangerous person in London, Johnny Powers. These 2 policemen want Nick to get some answers from Johnny about who the fence is, but in the end Nick refuses. One day when Nick goes for a school field trip the 2 disguised policemen show up on the scene where Nick admires the most guarded jewel in the whole of London. The 2 policemen slip the jewel into Nick’s pant pocket, and when the guards see that the jewel is in Nick’s pocket they put him into a prison to be locked up with Johnny Powers!

Johnny Powers helped Nick escape from prison with him. In the end his French teacher, Mr. Palis turns out to be the fence, one of the members of Johnny’s gang.

The funniest part of the book is when Tim sits on the vase that he was trying to search all along! The scariest part of the book is when Johnny planted a bomb and Nick’s brother was tied right next to the bomb! Luckily Nick was just in time to see Tim stranded and Nick defused the bomb in just 3 minutes before it EXPLODED!!!
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read mystery books!!

A Friend Coming Over After a Long Time

I started off my day by going for my tennis lessons at the J.I.S High School. My coach Pak Benny is a very good coach who also teaches tennis at the High School as well as the Middle School. Even though it was a hot day with today’s temperature reaching 40 degrees Celsius I thoroughly enjoyed my tennis lesson. After a refreshing tennis lesson , I headed to the Middle School Library to check out some books by Anthony Horwitz.

Today has been an exciting day because my good friend Tarun had come over to play with me after a really long time! We played badminton and cricket in the garden. Cricket is a sport similar to baseball except there are rules which are completely different from baseball. Cricket is a very well-known sport in India.

After a very active day we had pizza and chicken nuggets for lunch. We spent the rest of the time indoors. Since Tarun loves to play billiards we played billiards in my house. Tarun won the first round while I won the second, so basically it was a draw.

At 4: 30 Tarun had to leave because his aunt was in the hospital so he had to visit her.

And that was the end of a very fun filled and exciting day!! JJ

Another Earthquake AGAIN???

I was strumming my guitar at guitar class in Pondok Indah Mall when I suddenly felt myself shaking! At first I was confused then I realized it was an EARTHQUAKE!!! Everyone was running down the escalators, next I met my mom, who told me to go to the main entrance at Pondok Indah Mall with my maid as we were descending down the stairs at top speed, I heard babies crying and people panicking. Once we were at the entrance, my mom had to pick up my sister who was at a birthday party on the last floor!!!!!!!

After 5 nail biting and anxious minutes I found my mom at the main entrance with my sister. Next I gave a sigh of relief and made our way back home on our car. And that was the end of one of my most frightening experiences!!! On one of my older posts I said that BBC and CNN predicted there would be another earthquake. Well their hypothesis was correct!!

I HOPE THERE WILL BE NO MORE EARTHQUAKES!!!
