School's Out!!

My first year of middle school has finally come to an end. It has been a very exciting year for me!!! It seems only yesterday when I walked through the gates of middle school for the first time. I was so nervous! When I was at P.E.L in 5th grade I felt that I was one of the biggest people in school, but that all changed when I moved to middle school. I felt like a tiny first grader again, so curios about everything you see.

As I was progressing through the year. I think I've done a fairly good job in maintaining my "A" grades throughout all the subjects in 6th grade. I think I have improved a lot in my English and P.E from 5th grade.

Now what will I be doing spending the next 2 months at home?!? Well during  the holidays I'll be playing basket ball and I will be going for "Aqua dragons" every single day, Monday to Friday :(( I'm doing this because I need to keep healthy and fit. I know this will be hard work, but in the end it will be good for me in the long run. 

I also will be preparing for 7th grade next year by practicing my; Math,Spanish, Writing, Reading and e.t.c. Next Monday I will be going for a trip to the Library to check out some books to read. I don't really get why  do you have to pay 150$ deposit in the library. Because if you loose a book which costs less than 150$ they get to keep the 150$. I think that's not fair. Instead we should just pay the library how much the book costs.

I think that in these two months of summer I will be very occupied!! 

What's you favorite type of book?

Do you think you hate reading. Well actually you maybe just not reading the books you like. You see I always hated reading, but my sister will just keep on reading until you say "STOP." I could never read a book nonstop, even if my parents tried to force me. One time I just said to myself  " Why don't I try reading the last book of the Harry Potter series." And that's what I did. Once I finished the first page I was hooked on the book and I read nonstop. It took me just 2 days to finish an 800 page book. I then read another book related to HP, it's title was "Eragon". I immidiately got hooked. Then I thought to myself I don't hate reading, I'm not just reading the books I like. My favorite type of books are Horror, Suspense, Mystery and Fast Paced books. THAT'S WHAT I LIKE.

Too much of tests!!!

This week and last week there were so many tests I had to study for, all kinds of tests, spanish,health and math, infact there is an upcoming formative science test !!uhhhhhh!!! Some thing I noticed about me this year is, when I do all my tests I get a letter grade I'm not proud of, like yesterday. I recieed my results for my spanish test and I got 2 B's and an A. Last semester I mostly got all A's, except for one B!!! Somehow I'm getting results that I'm not too proud of!!! WHAT IS HAPPENING???

Waking Up

Every single day we have to wake up at 6:00 in the morning, SO EARLY. When I arrive at school, I always see people yawning and it makes me yawn too!!!!!! I just wish school could start at 9:00 because 7:30 is much too early. Sometimes I get a hadache because I'm so sleepy. When I daydream the only thing I think about is going back to sleep!!!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHH Black Out!!!

Yesterday the lights went off just before I had dinner and just after I finished having a shower. This is not the first time the power has went off in my house. Unfortunately we don't have a backup generator. So we had our first family candlelight dinner. Suddenly I heard the water pump running, the fans spinning, could this be? The lights had came back on!!! YAYYYYYYYY!!!! I realized I couldn't get much of my homework done. I just went to bed and it was 11:00 'o clock in the NIGHT!!!!!! And that was the end of a dark experience!!!

Our Exciting Trip to India

For the December Break we went to Mumbai and Goa. Mumbai is India's second biggest city. Goa is my hometown and it's a 45 minute flight from Mumbai, you can aslo go to Goa by train. Goa is a wonderful place and is full with beaches and a little bit of rice paddies, just like Bali! Except Goa is less devoloped and their beaches are dirty. I didn't really want to swim in the sea, just looking at it made me vomit.

In Mumbai we had to attend my dad's cousin's wedding. I had to wear a suit for the first time in my life. My dad said that I looked like a buisness man!!!! Anyway, we celebrated Christmas with a special mass at my dad's school and his classmate was the priest!!! It was a very special christmas for my dad and me, because I got an I pod Touch for Christmas!!!!!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!

We celebrated New Years by going for a midnight mass. The New Year was a special day for my mom and dad because it was their wedding anniversary and it was my mom's birthday too!!!!

We had to go to 3 family reunions during my trip to India. 2 from my dad's side and one from my mom's side. Next I got to visit my grandparents from my mom's side personally because I had to do a school project where I had to interview my grandma.

Finally we had to go back home to Jakarta, it was a long flight,but it felt nice being back in Jakarta again, away from the hustle and bustle in Mumbai.

Our 1000 Flood Relief Buckets!!!

Yesterday at our 6th grade meeting we had a talk about the recent flooods occuring around Jakarta. Our presenter was one of the guides from Wat San at the Bintaro Lama Kampung . She talked about the flooding, and how we could help. The guide told us that we can make flood relief kits for the victims fromfloods or other naturual disassters. The materials used to make these flood relief kits are: 3 adult and 2 kids toothbrushes,toothpaste,soap,shampoo,2 towwels,mosquito repellent,floor cleaner, mediciene containg a rich amount of vitamin C, a bucket, a brush and a sponge all of these materials are stored in one air and water tight bucket.The guide said we had to make 1000 flood relief kits so the victims who will be in the flood will be prepared.

I hope our efforts will save lives!!!

The December are Holidays Inching Nearer and Nearer

Just a few more weeks until the December break!!! I just can't wait till the December break. I 'm leaving for the holidays on the 11Th of December because My family has to go for a wedding in India. The bad thing is, that I have to miss Madness week*_*. Before I leave for the holidays. There are a few projects and test I have to do. This holiday is going to be very special because this is my first time travelling on Business Class!!! I'm also nervous about my grades on my report card. Will they be good grades or bad grades? I'm really looking forward on blogging my holidays.

A Friend Coming Over After a Long Time

I started off my day by going for my tennis lessons at the J.I.S High School. My coach Pak Benny is a very good coach who also teaches tennis at the High School as well as the Middle School. Even though it was a hot day with today’s temperature reaching 40 degrees Celsius I thoroughly enjoyed my tennis lesson. After a refreshing tennis lesson , I headed to the Middle School Library to check out some books by Anthony Horwitz.

Today has been an exciting day because my good friend Tarun had come over to play with me after a really long time! We played badminton and cricket in the garden. Cricket is a sport similar to baseball except there are rules which are completely different from baseball. Cricket is a very well-known sport in India.

After a very active day we had pizza and chicken nuggets for lunch. We spent the rest of the time indoors. Since Tarun loves to play billiards we played billiards in my house. Tarun won the first round while I won the second, so basically it was a draw.

At 4: 30 Tarun had to leave because his aunt was in the hospital so he had to visit her.

And that was the end of a very fun filled and exciting day!! JJ

Another Earthquake AGAIN???

I was strumming my guitar at guitar class in Pondok Indah Mall when I suddenly felt myself shaking! At first I was confused then I realized it was an EARTHQUAKE!!! Everyone was running down the escalators, next I met my mom, who told me to go to the main entrance at Pondok Indah Mall with my maid as we were descending down the stairs at top speed, I heard babies crying and people panicking. Once we were at the entrance, my mom had to pick up my sister who was at a birthday party on the last floor!!!!!!!

After 5 nail biting and anxious minutes I found my mom at the main entrance with my sister. Next I gave a sigh of relief and made our way back home on our car. And that was the end of one of my most frightening experiences!!! On one of my older posts I said that BBC and CNN predicted there would be another earthquake. Well their hypothesis was correct!!

I HOPE THERE WILL BE NO MORE EARTHQUAKES!!!
